Hi I am Lisa, founder of Lifestyle dietetics & nutrition.
I am married and a mum to two wonderful children. I was very fortunate enough to be a full time mummy to both my children for 15 years. But becoming a mum did bring some health concerns with gastro investigations. I was fortunate enough to be referred to a Dietitian to discuss advice to help manage my gastro symptoms through diet. From that moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a Dietitian.
Upon reflection I discovered that I could combine my passion of food and nutrition with scientific evidence whilst helping people, to fulfil my dream job!.
I decided to return to study after having an eventful career in the travel industry for many years, and being a stay at home mum and wife.
Once completing an access course, I studied and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Surrey. I am an experienced, registered with HCPC dietitian also a member of the British Dietetic Association. I have worked as a registered dietitian in both hospital and community settings.
I have worked in several NHS trusts in the South East of England, including as a paediatric, surgical, colorectal, gastro and pre-habilitation dietitian. I am currently working as a Mental Health Dietitian for Southern Health, whilst building up my private practice.
I am a member of the BDA CAHMS, Mental health and freelance sub groups, and also registered to deliver the low FODMAP diet, certified by Monash Fodmap.
Overall with the role of being a Dietitian I knew that I could make a real difference to peoples' lives, through passion, experience and striving to always offer sound evidential advice. I find my job very rewarding!
Thanks Lisa x.
